Pygmy Marmosets

Some critters are just too adorable. I stumbled upon an article about these teeny monkeys, and can't get over them.
Such ugly little faces, but so so cute.

Macaroon Cafe.

Macaroons. YUMMMMMMMM.
Luckily, waiting each month for the iHeart market to buy these delicious treats [not ideal] is no longer necessary.
And it's all thanks to this wonderful place:

As well as selling sweet treats, they also do light meals like sandwhiches and salads - for really good prices at that. Hoorah! Their milkshakes are also pretty funky. Choose a macaroon and they make a milkshake of that flavour.

We tried going two Mondays ago, but tragically it was closed... I was disapointed to say the least.
Do yourself a favour and hop on down to faithful Florida Rd and pay this place a visit, won't you?

A legend is born

So it's pouring like mad outside as well as being pretty damn cold, but there could not be a more beautiful day. Today, two of the most incredible people EVER had a child - a beautiful boy called Judah Luke Edy. Paul and Evie Edy, the father and mother of our youth group, are now parents of their very own.

Yay yay yay yay!
I am so excited that I just can't contain myself.
This little boy, who was drowned in love before he was even born, is such a blessing.
If there was ever a time for the glory of God to shine undoubtedly, it's through the birth of this amazing little boy.
What a miraculous day.

Judah, we all love you like crazy already, and you have the most amazing parents.
Welcome to the world, little man.

"You strike a woman, you strike a rock"

So tomorrow is a public holiday. Yaysies.
But it's actually got some pretty awesome history behind it... About 55 years ago, during Apartheid, hundreds of thousands of women gathered on the streetsof  a city in South Africa to protest the pass book law.
I can't actually remember if they were successful or not, but the point is that even though woman are the 'gentler' sex, we still have enormous amounts of power. BOOYA.
So props to all the ladies out there! Have a happy Woman's Day and try to get a male to do something unusually nice for you :)

Jars can be fun too.

I made these the other night and I actually had some serious fun.
They are so easy to do. Minimum effort, maximum result.

How to make your own one:

You will need:
  • Jar/s
  • Material depending on the jar
  • Ribbon
  • Pretty paper
  • Contact plastic
Here's what you do:
  • Make sure your jar is clean
  • Cover the lid in material (depending on the jar, again)
  • Cover your chosen paper and/or words in the contact
  • Use small pieces of contact to stick it to your jar
  • Tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar (if you want)
  • Add your own touches
There you have it! Super easy:)
These jars are also a nice to way to spice up a plain gift.

I Heart Market - August

It's I Heart time again and I, for one, am extremely excited.
It's been far too long since I last fought my way down the aisles of this fantastic market and believe it or not, I miss that. Uh, well, most of that.
I've finally saved enough to pay off all my expenses (Coldplay. Cape Town. October. AHHHHH!) so I can actually invest in some solid, marketted goods.
Tomorrow morning promises to be full of good company, good bargains and good food.
Did someone just say macaroon?
Fingers crossed Mr. Rain decides that he has other places to drown out.

A beautiful ocasion

Let me tell you all a story about two people who fell in love...

One day, long long ago, a young man called Brad met a beautiful young maiden that went by the name of Taryn. The two were instantly attracted to eachother, but for some reason, things didn't seem to work out between them. They both went their separate ways.

Years later, the spark between them was reignited. Brad persued Taryn 'like a boss' and pulled out all the stops to ensure that the beautful young maiden he had met all those years ago would want to be his beautiful young maiden.
It worked. Soon Taryn and Brad were an unoffical item, but Taryn longed to be his girlfriend. She waited and waited, but Brad just didn't ask the question she wanted to hear.

Then, on the night of Taryn's 23rd birthday, Brad asked a question. However, it was a little more serious than "Will you be my girlfriend?".
Brad actually asked Taryn to do the honour of marrying him!
Needless to say, Taryn accepted his offer with love and excitement.
All their friends and families rejoiced at the wonderful news and complemented Brad on his beautiful wife-to-be.

So the furure Mr and Mrs King (with the help of many, such as the unoffical wedding planner - a Mr Shaun Tait) began planning the big day.
For 6 months, they worked hard at perfecting every detail and making sure that the guests would enjoy the wedding just as much as the happy couple.

The day crept upon everyone, and before they knew it, it was time for the wedding. Excitedly, guests who came from far and wide gathered to a beautiful venue, located in the Midlands. Lythwood Lodge was buzzing with people admiring the breathtaking scenery, booking their chosen seats and socializing with one another.

The clock struck 2 pm and the ceremony began. The wedding party waited with anticipation for the bride to arrive. Taryn looked so incredibly gorgeous that tears sprung to many an eye. As she walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father, Brad watched her with such a love and joy that can only be described as Godly.

Vows and rings were exchanged and after the customary "I do"s, Brad and Taryn shared their first kiss.
Finally, they were husband and wife - a family.

And they lived happily ever after.
